Oatmeal Yogurt Cookies!

So what do you do when you have 3 packs of plain oatmeal (the flavor from variety packs that no one'll eat) and leftover yogurt? If you're me, you'd google up a recipe involving both ingredients and hopefully something will come up. Well, whatdoyaknow, something did! Oatmeal Yogurt Chocolate Chip Cookies! The idea of yogurt being in cookies sounded pretty neat, and I did have some leftover chocolate chips from Valentine's Day when I made chocolate dipped strawberries for the first time. So my sweet craving had me bust out my mixer and start bakin'! I made some and was really afraid of how they'd turn out. For me, on whether or not it'll taste super awesome or turn out funky, it's always 50-50. Cuz sometimes I'm careless on measuring or overconfident with my "guesstimating skillz" that I don't use measuring cups. And also I tend to just add in whatever I want or change a few things. Well instead of plain yogurt, it was strawberry, so the cookies definitely gave off a fruity smell. So I gave the cookies to Philip and after a cookie popped into his mouth, I heard the best words a baker could hear! "Mmmmmm! These are the best cookies I've ever eaten!" haha well that's just great!

I took a picture from my phone before the cookies would be eaten up.

Going Organic!

I'm gonna start eating food from the organic aisle from now on. I wanna start being super healthy, take care of my body, exercise, and go green! Being that the organic aisle is generally more expensive, and I don't have enough plastic or aluminum "trash" to start a recycle bin, the best I can do now is work on exercising and just cutting out junk food. (Recycling and shopping at Whole Foods can wait when I have a family)

I've been eating pretty healthy lately... and going healthy can be "easy" for so long! I'm craving buffalo wings like crazy! I hadn't eaten chips in a while either. The other day Philip bought these sugar-free vanilla wafers which I thought would be the crappiest cookies ever. C'mon now, vanilla wafers? Who eats those?! And from my experience, anything sugar-free tastes like crap. Amazingly enough, the cookies were delightful! It even read on the box some about being "#1 favorite sugar-free snack cookie" or something like that. So healthy junk CAN taste good!

And sooo... I went to Kroger today to somewhat satisfy my craving. I bought buffalo wing flavored kettle cooked chips! (from the organic aisle of course) hee... :D

Spring Time = Crunch Time!

Only a little over a month before I take the MCAT and I'm starting to freak out. In a way I feel like I'm doing all I can...yet I'm still not confident. There's always that, "I really could've studied a bit more" feeling, when I think of times I've spent not studying... like watching TV, spending so much weekend time with family, or sometimes eating out. sigh. But now there's no time to waste. It's CRUNCH TIME.

Anyway, I'm addicted to the TV all over again. I've always loved TV... but ever since college started, I think I stopped watching for a good four years. Now that I've graduated, I've started to have certain shows that I gotta keep up with, one of which is Dancing With The Stars! I love it. Someday in my life I gotta take ballroom dancing lessons. Hopefully before my wedding, so that my first dance with my future husband can be entertaining. Of all the weddings I've gone to, that first dance is cool for a second, but a typical song can last like 3-4 minutes and watching that slow dance can start to get boring... haha. For my wedding, I wanna waltz! Or do the jitterbug!

To sum up my birthday, I really gotta say SEAFOOD FEAST! On Friday Philip and I ate catfish and lots of flounder, then that Saturday I ate at Pappadeaux with Becca, Justin, Mollie, Chris, and Hubert. I had mahi mahi and a dozen oysters! Then Sunday my parents took the family and Philip out to Red Lobster! So much seafood, but all I can drool about now is just wanting some more raw oysters from Pappadeaux.... mmm I can eat those by the dozen

I also was treated to The Grape on my birthday by Philip. It felt like a first date all over again! Neat place to drink wine. One thing I learned was that red wine is served room temperature and white wine is served chilled. I never knew! I just picked red wine (the color makes it seem like it'd be more fruity) and ended up wishing I had ice with it. hahaha just kidding. It was yummy. Neat experience with the live jazz band. So expensive, but it was so fun! Philip is such a good man :)

I'm 23 tomorrow!

Wow, what an age. What a horrible age. For the first time, the day brings no excitement to me. I actually got a little happy when I saw 4 facebook wall posts wishing me an early happy birthday. Haha the week of my birthday came and I didn't realize it. AM I OLD? Birthdays don't matter anymore?! SAY IT AIN'T SO! noo... can't be. This year just flew by too quick. I'll make up for it next year when I'm 24.... which really isn't a great age either. No wait, it's gonna be my year! YEAR OF THE TIGER!!! yesssss I'll totally make up for it next year and by myself a pet tiger. Can't wait.

I'll tell ya the real exciting news of the year. Uyen's pregnant! And she's having a boy! Now THAT'S real news to get excited over. I'm an aunt-to-be! haha more like Be to Aunt... get it? get it?
