Done with studying

Whoo, today I woke up at 8:30am and that was the best I could do. I still can't seem to wake up at 7am just yet. Well, that's cuz I didn't sleep til 1am when I meant to sleep at midnight. I think it'll be okay. I'm liking this earliness. It isn't bright outside yet. It's still gloomy and sad....

hahaha but man I SURE AM HAPPY. I've finished all my studying! Those 5 stupid (actually they're pretty good) Examkracker books are DONE! That doesn't mean I'm near being confident about the test though, I could very well still score low. Now I have a month left to just take more and more practice tests. I have a lot of pressure on myself to do well cuz I keep talking about studying. So that's why I keep talking about it. NEED THE PRESSURE TO DO WELL.

Welp, I'm taking a break this weekend. What should I do? Bake a cake? I might just do that. But I already did for Van's going away dinner last week. I guess I'll just play some tennis. ALTA is starting next week and I actually wanna work on being a great tennis player.

I feel so refreshed. Waking up early is good.

Waking up early.... -_-

Lately I've been sleeping late, so I haven't been waking up til 11am. I set my alarm this morning hoping to get up by 8am. Hearing that first alarm sound was so excruciatingly painful. I remember those summer days back in grade school where we'd sleep in all the time. Then the night before the first day of school I finally get excited for school to start all over again. Then the moment I hear the alarm clock waking me up at 6am, I take it ALL BACK. Waking up is SO HARD when you really just wanna sleep. hahahaha especially during the winter... having to get up and take a shower while it's still dark out. So dreadful.

So I'm gonna try to be a morning bird now. My mom gets up at 6am naturally hahaha. Now I'm not gonna go there, but trying to naturally wake up by 7-8am would be nice.... so if I ever had to get up for an early rendezvous, it'd be easy. I just hate that "IT'S SO EARLY omggggggg I HATE LIFE ugh I JUST WANNA GO BACK TO SLEEP" feeling.

Off to an early morning hangin' out with my soon to be favorite nephew's momma!

Happy Birthday Angela!

Since it's her birthday, I'm gonna dedicate this post to her.
HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY ANGELA!

Angela and I became such great friends since the day we first met our freshmen year in the dorm bathrooms. She lived only two doors down. Ever since then she's always been there for me, supporting me, giving me advice, and just always keeping my head up there. She's truly one of the nicest people I know and has a great heart. Although she left Tech and moved halfway across the globe within a couple years, our friendship has always kept up. She's done so much for me! I love this girl to death and I wish nothing but the best for her. The years have been fun and there are so many unforgettable memories. I failed to send her a birthday card this year, so hopefully this post will make up for it =)

(2004: first pic we've ever taken together)
this was us doing lab reports in the basement of Caldwell, where most of our freshmen year was spent. fun times with the greatest "basement crew" ever

Phil Finally Left For Shanghai...

The time's finally come and Philip's gonna be gone for 2 months studying abroad in Shanghai, China. It'll be a good experience for him. I'm happy for him and I hope all goes well! It's just sad though, to say goodbye. I took him to the airport in the whee hours of the night (4am) and Hartsfield-Jackson airport was the least crowded I had ever seen. It was so quiet. It would've been really exciting if I got to go with him, but instead I was left with goodbyes. I really wish they'd let non-passengers go all the way up to gate to see their loved ones fly off.

But alas, we shared our romantic moment as I sent him off through the security gate, having to imagine the metal detector frame be the actual plane as I leaned against the imaginary window and watch him fly off. Goodbye my love!

Haha just kidding, instead, Philip actually walked me back to my car and was the best best best best best best boyfriend ever. He's the BEST and I'm really gonna miss him :(

Philip's Accupuncture

I went along with Philip to get an accupuncture the other day and it was my first time seeing it done. We went to Bruce's dad's office. The place smelled of all these Chinese herbs I couldn't tell if I liked it or not. The whole process took longer than I thought... like an hour. The needles were a lot longer than I imagined and Bruce's dad did a whole buncha things I didn't know would be involved! Nevertheless, Philip said it felt great and it was pretty interesting to watch.

the needles were attached to wires for some electro-therapy

half the length of the needle went through his skin... ouch...?

the flamed jars just sucked his skin in, it looked like his skin was gonna mold into the jars

Baby Shower Success!

The food was delicious. It wasn't our usual family gathering food (huge trays of different entrees), rather it was finger foods! We had steak kabobs, chicken kabobs, asparagus, potatoes, a basket of different dough stuff (haha) like croissant, these cheese twirly things, and this other filo dough kinda thing (I forgot what they were called), then we also had shrimp and cocktail sauce, a huge fruit platter, and yummy cupcakes! The games I had lined up turned out pretty fun after all. Here's a clip of the baby bottle drinking contest.

Note to self: for a family that is all lactose-intolerant, never attempt the game ever again

Awake at 5am?

It's getting crazier now that I've gone from sleeping around 3am every night to past 5am. I guess it doesn't matter when I sleep, as long as I get sleep and am able to function throughout the day? Sleep's overrated anyway...

Anyway, today was a loooong day. Ran errands to prepare for Uyen's baby shower. Decorated downstairs with streamers and "It's a Boy!" sign, folded utensils and napkins together with ribbon bows, laid out baby boy blue sheets for the tables, and prepared for games & activities! It's gonna be fun tomorrow, I hope. I became in charge of the activities and prizes, so I hope it'll end up being hilarious rather than lame. I really dunno, I guess we'll see!

Anyway, while decorating the downstairs, my dad called me from outside asking, "You have a friend who's a cop? He's here to see you" hahahha and it was PHONG! hadn't seen him since his wedding on Valentine's day really. It was funny to see a police cop car on my driveway.. to later see another one (his buddy came along too) pull up.

Took some pictures for Cu...

Dreams Are Nice

Dreams are just so interesting to me. Sometimes I just wake up from a dream feeling nice and a second later I haven't the slightest idea what I dreamt about.

Anyway, it's raining now and thundering. I LOVE how it's all dark and gloomy. Perfect days for studying. Yesterday was a fun night, but now my face will be MIA until I get myself a good MCAT score. 57 days left to study and prepare. Seems like I have a while, but I'm trying to pace myself.

A Ten Bucks Good Night

Whooo, what a long day. After Philip's afternoon "fame" on CBS, to a Cinco de Mayo cookout (to celebrate Chris' last day in Atlanta), we ended up with tons of people over for a great ending night of poker. I hadn't played poker in a long time and ended up winning 10 bucks! The pot was around 40 bucks. Borkai won I think 5bucks and Philip ended up with the rest. yayyyyyy!!

Congrats Georgia Tech Class of '09!

Graduating from college is one of the happiest days of one's life and today celebrates GT's graduating class of 2009! A lot of people from my entering freshmen class graduated today and it just made me realize that pretty soon, I won't know anyone from Tech anymore. As of now, I can count the total number of folks I know probably on one hand. I can't believe the entering freshmen are born in the 1990s now... that's crazy.

Last night Philip and I just planned to have a nice dinner at California Pizza Kitchen with Caroline..... which turned out to be a bigger night than I thought! I mean, why not, Caroline was gonna graduate the next day, so that's a reason for some fun! We went from CPK, to meeting up with other friends at Cypress, to Moondogs, and even Blake's! I really hadn't had that much fun in a long time and I'm glad I went out. Sometimes just having that fun once in a while makes you really enjoy life and it pushes to to study hard all over again. Kinda refreshment sorta thing?

However, I decided that I'm never going to drink alcohol ever again. Last night just reminded me of my 21st birthday all over again. whoooo :(

Oh and I'm watching 50 First Dates for the first time right now. I'm so behind on movies and slowly catching up. This flick's cute. I can't wait to rent Bride Wars. It's out on DVD now!
