I get so interested in the concept of dreaming and just exactly why you dream exactly what you dream. For me, I hardly ever dream. No wait, they say you dream every single night. So what I mean is I hardly ever remember my dreams. And when I do, it's always realistic. I've never had a dream of myself in a cartoon, or in black and white, or even seeing myself as if I'm watching my dream. I've heard of people having those. Or even sleep paralysis (is that dreaming?), is something I've never experienced. I have a couple friends who've experienced sleep paralysis and to me, it just seems like the scariest feeling. I've heard of people flying, teeth falling out, and other recurring dreams. I've never even had a recurring dream! haha am I even normal? So anyway, last night I dreamt something that I have never dreamt before...
I dreamt that I DIED!!!!!
Not only had I never dreamt my own death, this dream I actually saw myself. At least it wasn't a gruesome death, I think my heart just stopped while I was on a bed or something. Anyway, point is, I dreamt of my life ending. I was worried. I tend to think that if you dream something bad, it must mean something bad, and if I dream good, then it's something good. So immediately I looked up dream interpretation.
Die
To dream that you die in your dream, symbolizes inner changes, transformation, self-discovery and positive development that is happening within you or in your life. Although such a dreams may bring about feelings of fear and anxiety, it is no cause for alarm and is often considered a positive symbol. Dreams of experiencing your own death usually means that big changes are ahead for you. You are moving on to new beginnings and leaving the past behind. These changes does not necessarily imply a negative turn of events. Metaphorically, dying can be seen as an end or a termination to your old ways and habits. So, dying does not always mean a physical death, but an ending of something.
"Positive symbol" it says, =D. And now everything makes sense!
See, since the weekend, I've felt so stress free. Just a couple days ago I came back from Orlando for an interview with Ross University. I think we conversed so much that I can only recall the interviewer asking 3 questions. He ended with "I doubt you'll be rejected" and that was all I needed to hear. From the second he said that, I was as happy as can be. It's likely that I'll be MERP'd, and it's possible for straight admission, but whatever the outcome, I'M HAPPY! I'm glad he said it too, otherwise I'd be so antsy all break waiting for the decision call. Instead, I'm just relaxing and having fun, yay =)
And I've been thinking a lot too, that in about 3-4 months, my life will totally change. I could be somewhere totally different. I won't be seeing the same people any more. I'll be studying like I've never studied before. I'll actually be working towards my future career. Just thinking so much about my life changing soon probably gave me my dream of my death. Scary dream, but it's a good thing.

Pappadeaux!
Went to Pappadeax last night. Ate some lobster, shrimp, crawfish, tilapia, and of course my ever so favorite... OYSTERS!!! Last time I ate there was my birthday back in March and I've been dying to go back. Philip took me (aw ain't he so sweet =D). It sure was good shtuff!!
Anyway, look what I found!! I got braces back in freshmen year of high school. Dr. Hunter always puts up a before and after picture. I dunno what happened to my after picture (darn!), but my momma definitely kept the before pic!

Welp, headin' down to Orlando tomorrow. Laters!

I love Christmas!
Cu and I put up some wreaths and wrapped the staircase with some... umm, I don't know what they're called, a string green wreath-feeling things? And it's rainy out so I didn't feel like going in front of my house to take a picture of the reindeers. Maybe tomorrow!
I love Gap holiday commercials. I never get tired of them. I love this year's! Especially the one with the little girls. "How cute are these boots? How cute are these boots?!"

My Momma's Funny
I came downstairs today and saw 2 sandwiches left that my mom made earlier this morning for breakfast for me, my dad, and Cu. My mom wrote a sign saying "Please take one" and drew our faces. I took one and started eating.
Then Cu comes downstairs and asks "where'd you get that sandwich?" and I told him there's one for him too, in the kitchen. He walks into the kitchen and the first thing I hear is "WHAT!" ... I thought he was surprised that my mom took the time to draw pictures of us, but instead his "WHAT" was referring to his picture...
My mom drew his face filled with pimples! hahahaha it was hilarious. My mom's been getting on his back about acne and I guess this picture means that she really means it!
Anyway, I still happily enjoyed my sandwich. At least my picture was pretty. She drew in eye lashes =)

(Can't really see it, it was drawn kinda light)
Last night I played tennis for the longest time out in the brrrrCOLD. It was fun! Before last night I haven't really played in a while. I think I missed the two last ALTA seasons. We're preparing for next season now. The Winter Mixed Doubles will be starting beginning of January and I'm excited. I've been playing for YEARS and I just never seem to get any better haha. Hopefully this year our team can bring home a plate!
Lastly, here's a picture of my dad and Ralphie. We always take such close-up pictures where you can't really see how tiny he is. I took a faraway picture. I wish it was on Thanksgiving so I could've compared him to a turkey.
Ralph & his Grandpa

This year I put two reindeer lights in front of our house. Things have been busy in the family. The reindeers weren't out yet (usually we'd have them up by Thanksgiving) and since I was the only one home, I decided to just haul the big boxes out and set them up myself. I made myself some hot mocha coffee and sipped it while I set out the deers in the cold. No complaining though, I was happy. Now that's the holiday spirit! (I'll wait til tonight to take a picture with the lights on!)
Bout to make some rum cake for my sister to bring to her company Christmas potluck party. My brother wanted to be the one to buy rum at the liquor store because he just turned 21 a month ago. That reminded me of the day I got my driver's license and I was always willing to run ANY errand for my mom just so I could drive :D

Time the Celebrate the Holidays!
I took my last final at GSU today. Last final ever? I'm really hoping so. All I want for Christmas is some good news =)
It's been a while since I've updated and I can't believe 2009 is almost over. Thanksgiving this year was really great. Next year we'll have 4 kids in the 3rd generation. Before we know it, a bulk of the girl cousins are gonna be popping out babies. I can't wait to see the future of the 3rd generation in the Nguyen Family Tree. I'm just itching for someone to get married!
Now I gotta worry about Christmas presents, shopping for Secret Santa, and just getting into the holiday spirit. I like to do things last minute. It's the last minute rush with Christmas carols in the background that bring in the holiday spirit. 'Tis the season to be giving...
Before that, I have a script I need to memorize! I'm gonna be in a commercial! We're shooting tomorrow with the CW network and I waited til the day before to memorize the script. It's only 30 seconds long. What commercial is it? hahahha I'll wait til we actually shoot before I get into further details with that. Nevertheless, this commercial shoot is a cool experience!
And last but not least.... I got my mind on Ross and Ross on my mind =)
praying.

Ralphie's only almost 4 months and he's already started "school"!! Just yesterday my sister started going back to work again. Ralph's in daycare now in Bob's work building (Georgia Pacific), but we all like to say he's going to "school".. He even has picture day this Friday. HOW CUTE!

Happy Halloween!
Well actually, it's not Halloween anymore, it's All Saint's Day! Actually, it's after midnight now isn't it? So technically it's Monday... but oh well whatever, it's still Sunday. Today is Cu's birthday and he's finally turning the big 2-1! Uyen and Bob took the family (and Ralph heehee!) out to eat at Ruth's Chris and it was absolutely delightful... mmmmm
Great weekend. We celebrated the Annual Triple Threat birthdays with the family and cousins and as usual, ate lots and lots of food. This year however there was an announcement. My cousin Chi Doan is pregnant! WOO HOO! Ralphie's gonna have a lil playmate soon! The baby's due June 1, 2010. I'm so excited.
I didn't dress up for Halloween this year. It just came too fast I didn't have time to prepare to show off some creativity. I saw some pictures on Facebook of some pretty creative ones. One friend was Lady Gaga and it looked pretty good. I wish I had thought of that!
Welp, Daylight Savings gave me an extra hours so I'm extra happy. Off to a new week. Happy Monday!

Spring Rolls!
I made Goi Cuon for the first time on my own today. Goi Cuon is Vietnamese for spring rolls. Becca was just saying how she wanted to learn to make them. I don't know what carried me on the whim, but I decided to just go with her to Buford to show her how to buy ingredients and make them. I'm glad I did, cuz it was a yummy and fresh dinner tonight. I can't believe I actually pulled it off, cuz Philip says I'm not a really good cook hahaha. WELL HE JUST HASN'T SEEN ME REALLY TRY! =D Maybe it's just Vietnamese food I'm good at cooking because I understand the taste haha. My peanut-dipping sauce turned out soooo good too, it really surprised me! Making spring rolls isn't really cooking though so I guess I've yet to prove I can cook. Anyway...
First I boiled water to cook the vermicelli, pork, and shrimp

As the shrimp turned orange, I took them out

Vermicelli, drained, rinsed, and ready

Peeled the shrimp and took out the shrimp poop

Made the surprisingly good peanut-hoison dipping sauce

Got all the ingredients ready

Prepared to start rollin'

Did that about 15 times and voila!

"a dream is a wish your heart makes"
I had a dream last night that I was woken up by a call around 7:30am and was told that Morehouse School of Medicine had decided to invite me to an interview. I WAS SO HAPPY!
Too bad it was just a dream. Now if only dreams come true... "a dream is a wish your heart makes"
I probably had that dream because Morehouse was on my mind. I visited Morehouse yesterday and talked to the director of admissions for about an hour. It was a great conversation and I ended in all smiles! I heard he doesn't have any role in decisions of acceptances or interviews though. This whole medical school application process is really tough. There are so many people in the same shoes I'm in. How could I possibly stand out when schools have just a 10% acceptance rate? I think it's just all about perseverance and believing in yourself. One day I'll get there. That's a promise.

AUC
I missed a call this morning and listened to my voicemail. It was a call from AUC. I wonder what they wanted. I didn't get to call back, cuz I was listening to the voicemail on my way to class. I wanted to make sure I had a paper and pen just in case I had to jot anything down. So all during class I kept wondering what they'd possibly want. The voicemail was just, "Hey Jacinta, this is Jenny something, I'm calling you in regards to your application to AUC, please give me a call back..."
I'm just hoping it's good news hahaha but that's super wishful thinking. It's way too early to receive any good news. I don't even know if my transcripts or letters of recommendations have made its way yet.
I called back after class around 3pm, but was led to her voicemail. She hasn't called me back. Gosh, just wondering what she wants! I bet she's just calling to say, "I'm here to guide you throughout this process" hahaha and that's it. Oh well, at least it can't possibly be bad news, can it?

Ralphie
This is Ralphie in his monkey position--his favorite way of being held. Just look at that, it puts him right to sleep!
Just had a conversation with Angela and she is the best listener everrrrrrrrrrr.
i love saturdays
I slept in today. I woke up around 12noon to go get 2" by 2" photos of me to send off to SABA University. I usually do quick photo developments at Eckerd (oops I mean Rite Aid... but I still call it Eckerd), but they don't do 2"by2" prints and I was told CVS does! I like CVS. I think it's my favorite of all the drug stores. Anyway, I stayed there for almost an hour. WHY??? I dunno why, but I got caught up with picking nail polish. They were on sale and I kept wanting to get one... then telling myself, no I don't need a new color. Haha well, I ended up buying a cherry red. =D
And I also printed this!

Don't I look professional? I can't wait to actually be professional. This was actually taken last year for last year's round of applications. I couldn't use this year's picture because for some reason it wouldn't turn out right at CVS.
Went to TJ Maxx to find clothes for Fall but didn't end up buying anything but shampoo. It smells so gooooood.
Gotta study some neurobiology now.

update!
I don't know what to write about. I just wanted to update!
I'm still taking post-bacc classes at Georgia State. It annoys me mainly because of the parking situation. I hate parking at Turner Field ughhh. I hate riding the bus. I try to park at the meters as much as possible. I mean, in the end, paying for the meters is cheaper than a parking pass at Georgia Tech (which I heard is $600 this year!). Turner field is free yeah, but I still hate it. It's so crowded!
I've finished all my applications to medical school! I've applied to a buncha schools in the U.S. as well as the 4 top schools in the Caribbeans. I really hope to get in somewhere. I don't care what school I go to, once I get in, it's all up to me to pass the USMLE. If I get into one of the Caribbean schools, at least I'll have a year round tan =)
My nephew Ralphie is just SO CUTE. He makes weekends 500% better when I see him. He's so spoiled, not just by his parents, but aunts, uncles, and even grandaunts, let alone grandparents! He's just a little one right now, but I can't believe in the long run he'll be the oldest of the bunch (of his generation).
And lastly, I've been watching a lot of TV shows just cuz I got the time! GOSSIP GIRL is my favorite right now. I love Ed Westwick, who plays Chuck Bass. I gotta admit, I've never been a fan of the British accent, but after hearing him, I looooove it.

Blair & Chuck (favorite couple)
Flashforward is interesting too. Only seen the premier so far.. looks pretty good.
And lastly, THE OFFICE! I'm kinda late on this one. All my cousins watched it ever since it came out and when we get together all I hear are quotes from it. They show old episodes more often now and Philip and I've been watching them all. Hilarious! Can't believe I've been missing out!
(Philip just found out that "that's what she said" came from The Office haha. At least I knew that!)

Aunt Jacinta
I'm an aunt! Aw, I miss my nephew already.
Yesterday was such an amazing experience. My sister let me stay in the same room while she delivered. I almost regretted it at first not knowing what to expect, but once Ralph came out, I was so glad I stayed. That was one of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed. Wow, so unforgettable.
I am finally an aunt. The best part is now having a face to picture when talking about Ralph. The best part is seeing the resemblances between him and his parents. The best part is getting to watch him grow. The best part is that he's FAMILY!
LOTS of happiness in my family right now. My parents are so happy to be grandparents. My sister and brother-in-law are finally parents. And my brother and I are aunt and uncle.
I barely know Ralph and I already love him. He's not even a day old and already he's teaching me life lessons. He's taught me to believe in love at first sight. I can honestly say that Ralph's the first person that I've loved from the first moment I laid eyes on him. Aw, he's special.
Aunt Jacinta is loving every bit of this. *smiles*

I'm almost an aunt!
Got a call from my mom this morning. Uyen's in the hospital! I didn't believe it at first cuz my mom's been tricking me quite a few times. I knew he'd come out today though. I made a bet that he'd come out today and well look at that... =D
Little Ralphie's not here yet. I'm gonna head to the hospital soon. I can't believe I'm finally gonna get to see his face. I'm SO EXCITED!

I did it!
It's 6:30am and I'm up! Been trying to wake up this early for a long time now and I finally did it. Time to treat myself to a chickfila chicken bisuit and then start on an mcat practice test. Whoops, I said I wouldn't be talking about the mcat anymore. Oh well, this is my blog and I can say whatever I want haha.
Can't believe I woke up. It's so dark out =)

Weight Off My Shoulders
It's finally June! The summer hype should be here, but I'm all cooped up inside. I think everybody else is too anyway with all the rain that's been going on. The temperature still in the 80s, when I remember this time last year it'd be scorching hot.
Anyway, regarding the MCAT, I have to say I feel pretty good. I'm probably not going to talk about it anymore til after I take the test. I don't wanna jinx myself. Not that I believe in that anyway.
I really do feel great. Lately (well for a year really) I've felt this awful burden, but now I feel like that weight is totally off my shoulders. Sometimes you find out things you never knew. It may hurt, but you realized it's better late than never. I feel so light and relieved. Whether it's spring cleaning, summer cleaning, or just life cleaning, throwing out crap always feels good.
I love being clean. I'm gonna go take a shower now.

Done with studying
Whoo, today I woke up at 8:30am and that was the best I could do. I still can't seem to wake up at 7am just yet. Well, that's cuz I didn't sleep til 1am when I meant to sleep at midnight. I think it'll be okay. I'm liking this earliness. It isn't bright outside yet. It's still gloomy and sad....
hahaha but man I SURE AM HAPPY. I've finished all my studying! Those 5 stupid (actually they're pretty good) Examkracker books are DONE! That doesn't mean I'm near being confident about the test though, I could very well still score low. Now I have a month left to just take more and more practice tests. I have a lot of pressure on myself to do well cuz I keep talking about studying. So that's why I keep talking about it. NEED THE PRESSURE TO DO WELL.
Welp, I'm taking a break this weekend. What should I do? Bake a cake? I might just do that. But I already did for Van's going away dinner last week. I guess I'll just play some tennis. ALTA is starting next week and I actually wanna work on being a great tennis player.
I feel so refreshed. Waking up early is good.

Waking up early.... -_-
Lately I've been sleeping late, so I haven't been waking up til 11am. I set my alarm this morning hoping to get up by 8am. Hearing that first alarm sound was so excruciatingly painful. I remember those summer days back in grade school where we'd sleep in all the time. Then the night before the first day of school I finally get excited for school to start all over again. Then the moment I hear the alarm clock waking me up at 6am, I take it ALL BACK. Waking up is SO HARD when you really just wanna sleep. hahahaha especially during the winter... having to get up and take a shower while it's still dark out. So dreadful.
So I'm gonna try to be a morning bird now. My mom gets up at 6am naturally hahaha. Now I'm not gonna go there, but trying to naturally wake up by 7-8am would be nice.... so if I ever had to get up for an early rendezvous, it'd be easy. I just hate that "IT'S SO EARLY omggggggg I HATE LIFE ugh I JUST WANNA GO BACK TO SLEEP" feeling.
Off to an early morning hangin' out with my soon to be favorite nephew's momma!

Happy Birthday Angela!
Since it's her birthday, I'm gonna dedicate this post to her.
HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY ANGELA!
Angela and I became such great friends since the day we first met our freshmen year in the dorm bathrooms. She lived only two doors down. Ever since then she's always been there for me, supporting me, giving me advice, and just always keeping my head up there. She's truly one of the nicest people I know and has a great heart. Although she left Tech and moved halfway across the globe within a couple years, our friendship has always kept up. She's done so much for me! I love this girl to death and I wish nothing but the best for her. The years have been fun and there are so many unforgettable memories. I failed to send her a birthday card this year, so hopefully this post will make up for it =)

(2004: first pic we've ever taken together)
this was us doing lab reports in the basement of Caldwell, where most of our freshmen year was spent. fun times with the greatest "basement crew" ever

Phil Finally Left For Shanghai...
The time's finally come and Philip's gonna be gone for 2 months studying abroad in Shanghai, China. It'll be a good experience for him. I'm happy for him and I hope all goes well! It's just sad though, to say goodbye. I took him to the airport in the whee hours of the night (4am) and Hartsfield-Jackson airport was the least crowded I had ever seen. It was so quiet. It would've been really exciting if I got to go with him, but instead I was left with goodbyes. I really wish they'd let non-passengers go all the way up to gate to see their loved ones fly off.
But alas, we shared our romantic moment as I sent him off through the security gate, having to imagine the metal detector frame be the actual plane as I leaned against the imaginary window and watch him fly off. Goodbye my love!
Haha just kidding, instead, Philip actually walked me back to my car and was the best best best best best best boyfriend ever. He's the BEST and I'm really gonna miss him :(

Philip's Accupuncture
I went along with Philip to get an accupuncture the other day and it was my first time seeing it done. We went to Bruce's dad's office. The place smelled of all these Chinese herbs I couldn't tell if I liked it or not. The whole process took longer than I thought... like an hour. The needles were a lot longer than I imagined and Bruce's dad did a whole buncha things I didn't know would be involved! Nevertheless, Philip said it felt great and it was pretty interesting to watch.

the needles were attached to wires for some electro-therapy

half the length of the needle went through his skin... ouch...?

the flamed jars just sucked his skin in, it looked like his skin was gonna mold into the jars

Baby Shower Success!
The food was delicious. It wasn't our usual family gathering food (huge trays of different entrees), rather it was finger foods! We had steak kabobs, chicken kabobs, asparagus, potatoes, a basket of different dough stuff (haha) like croissant, these cheese twirly things, and this other filo dough kinda thing (I forgot what they were called), then we also had shrimp and cocktail sauce, a huge fruit platter, and yummy cupcakes! The games I had lined up turned out pretty fun after all. Here's a clip of the baby bottle drinking contest.
Note to self: for a family that is all lactose-intolerant, never attempt the game ever again

Awake at 5am?
It's getting crazier now that I've gone from sleeping around 3am every night to past 5am. I guess it doesn't matter when I sleep, as long as I get sleep and am able to function throughout the day? Sleep's overrated anyway...
Anyway, today was a loooong day. Ran errands to prepare for Uyen's baby shower. Decorated downstairs with streamers and "It's a Boy!" sign, folded utensils and napkins together with ribbon bows, laid out baby boy blue sheets for the tables, and prepared for games & activities! It's gonna be fun tomorrow, I hope. I became in charge of the activities and prizes, so I hope it'll end up being hilarious rather than lame. I really dunno, I guess we'll see!
Anyway, while decorating the downstairs, my dad called me from outside asking, "You have a friend who's a cop? He's here to see you" hahahha and it was PHONG! hadn't seen him since his wedding on Valentine's day really. It was funny to see a police cop car on my driveway.. to later see another one (his buddy came along too) pull up.
Took some pictures for Cu...

Dreams Are Nice
Dreams are just so interesting to me. Sometimes I just wake up from a dream feeling nice and a second later I haven't the slightest idea what I dreamt about.
Anyway, it's raining now and thundering. I LOVE how it's all dark and gloomy. Perfect days for studying. Yesterday was a fun night, but now my face will be MIA until I get myself a good MCAT score. 57 days left to study and prepare. Seems like I have a while, but I'm trying to pace myself.

A Ten Bucks Good Night
Whooo, what a long day. After Philip's afternoon "fame" on CBS, to a Cinco de Mayo cookout (to celebrate Chris' last day in Atlanta), we ended up with tons of people over for a great ending night of poker. I hadn't played poker in a long time and ended up winning 10 bucks! The pot was around 40 bucks. Borkai won I think 5bucks and Philip ended up with the rest. yayyyyyy!!

Congrats Georgia Tech Class of '09!
Graduating from college is one of the happiest days of one's life and today celebrates GT's graduating class of 2009! A lot of people from my entering freshmen class graduated today and it just made me realize that pretty soon, I won't know anyone from Tech anymore. As of now, I can count the total number of folks I know probably on one hand. I can't believe the entering freshmen are born in the 1990s now... that's crazy.
Last night Philip and I just planned to have a nice dinner at California Pizza Kitchen with Caroline..... which turned out to be a bigger night than I thought! I mean, why not, Caroline was gonna graduate the next day, so that's a reason for some fun! We went from CPK, to meeting up with other friends at Cypress, to Moondogs, and even Blake's! I really hadn't had that much fun in a long time and I'm glad I went out. Sometimes just having that fun once in a while makes you really enjoy life and it pushes to to study hard all over again. Kinda refreshment sorta thing?
However, I decided that I'm never going to drink alcohol ever again. Last night just reminded me of my 21st birthday all over again. whoooo :(
Oh and I'm watching 50 First Dates for the first time right now. I'm so behind on movies and slowly catching up. This flick's cute. I can't wait to rent Bride Wars. It's out on DVD now!

Blogging Has a "Mood-Boosting Effect"
"Caroline Adams Miller, the author of Creating Your Best Life: The Ultimate Life List Guide, points us to a new study that found blogging has the same mood-boosting effect on the brain as journaling. For example, cancer patients who blogged about going through chemotherapy showed lower levels of pain and improved well-being compared to patients who did not blog. Sites like Tumblr.com and Blogger.com make starting a blog as free and easy as opening an email account. "(iVillage.com)
I knew there was a reason why I always felt good after blogging or always felt a need to keep up with my journal! So whenever you're feelin blue, just blog! See Becca? That's why I'm telling you to start one since you're checkin up on this every day... :D!

My Beautiful Pumps I've Yet To Wear
I love shoes. When I grow older I want a whole collection of shoes, especially after reading and watching "In Her Shoes." I like heels a lot, but I don't run into enough occasions to actually wear heels... I mean, unless I decide to start goin to Publix in heels.... which I guess I could... haha just kiddin.
Angela & Becca are asking to see what my Jessica Simpson pumps look like so here it is. I got them from my cousins this past birthday and they're sooooo cute! They're 5 inches, I think, and I haven't had an occasion to wear them yet. They're so cute though, I can't wait to wear it. I call for a girls' night out!

A Package For My Ralphie!!!
I'm so excited for my soon-to-be nephew, Ralph. Can't wait for him to come into this world haha. Philip and I picked out some clothes from The Children's Place online and bought some to give my sister for her baby shower on May. 10th (in a couple more weeks!) I heard a knock on my door, looked out, and saw that the package has just arrived!
The clothes are so cute! I can't wait to buy more.

I'm sick :(
I can't tell if I have a cold or it's really just allergies. My throat is sore and I've probably blew out at least a gallon worth of snot. Kleenex has been ran out and now it's just using up rolls of tissue. I FEEL MISERABLE!
I haven't felt this sick in a long time. I know it's pollen season, but usually I'm not affected by all this. Is it really allergies? I took cold medicine and it made me feel better, but I also find myself sneezing. I'm coughing by night and sneezing by day. Maybe it's both allergies and a cold!
I dunno, but I need some make-Jacinta-feel-better medicine.
Yesterday, Philip ordered Papa John's online for me for delivery... just cuz I was craving it so bad. He's such a sweetie pie. What a sweetie pizza pie. It tasted so gooooooood. THE WORKS. Although I found myself picking off every bit of green pepper and onion. It was still good though. Pizza is one of the best foods in the world. Papa John's is the best pizza. Pizza Hut sucks ('cept for the BBQ pizza, I actually like that one).

The Same Freaking Spot Now... for the 3RD TIME
I got into an accident yesterday. And chipped off some paint and had a dent in the front left of my car. Stupid girl. I guess it was kinda my fault, but then again it wasn't. We were racing for the same parallel parking spot and I GOT THERE FIRST. As I pulled in, her stupid butt pulled back as well and we hit. Geezus. I've had that spot hit two times before. I feel so horrible, I think I'm gonna leave the dent there til I have money to get it fixed. My dad's taken it to be fixed twice for me already... I feel horrible.
I could've gotten her insurance and called the cops, but at the time I felt like it was totally my fault, so I didn't bother with all that. sigh, maybe I should've. Whatever, my fault. It's all karma. I should stop stealing and killing people. Then maybe bad stuff won't happen to me. haha I'm just kidding. I'm a good girl. But eh, things happen.
Good things happen too =)
Anyway, I got everything I need in my life right now except 4 letters. M C A T
a lil over 2 months to go! and only 2 more weeks til summer, YES!
Studying all day, until LOST comes on tonight at 9pm. YES!

Happy Easter!
Got up at 8:30am this morning and am now getting ready for church. Just wanted to say Happy Easter! I wonder what the weather's like outside. I hope it's nice and springy.
Went to Kollaboration last night and was pretty entertained. Kollaboration is a movement of Asian Americans in all types of entertainment coming together performing their talents across the nation. There was this duo of a cellist and a guitarist that sounded pretty good. My eyes were glued to the cellist. It made me wanna pick the cello back up and start playing. My cello is sitting at home rarely being played since I graduated high school. What a waste. I wanna get a cello book of songs and start playing again. The cello makes such a beautiful rich sound...
Ah, this summer I'm gonna play the cello again! I miss it!

Surprising Evening Date
On Sunday Philip told me he had a surprise. He said "If you have to study, you better study now, because tonight we're going on a date!" Aw, how unexpected! We went to Atlantic Station and he took me to Strip (my first time) and I loved it! He ordered some edamame as an appetizer, as well as one of his favorite sushi rolls, B52. Then I had a steak salad and he had some lemon grass lamb chops. It was super good. My salad had pieces of mango, papaya, and avocado in it. As Philip would say, "fruit in salad is always a good mix" hahaha.
Then we went to Iffy's (formally known as PJ's) for dessert. I bought us 2 different slices of cheesecake (bad idea for a diet, but they were so good) and snuck them into the theater....and watched FAST AND FURIOUS 4!!! Hahahha OF COURSE Philip would wanna see that movie. It was good, I liked it and enjoyed it. I love both Paul Walker and Vin Diesel. And now I just want a really really fast car.
Just wanted to share how wonderful of a guy Philip is hahahaha. THANK YOU, PHILIP <3

$55 = Paid Relief
Oh man, I'm so relieved. I just rescheduled my MCAT testing day. Originally it was going to be on May 2nd, til I realized what a pain it was worry about my post-bacc classes at the same time. After the finals for spring semester at GSU, I would be taking the MCAT the very next day. The thought of taking my MCAT right after finals was stressing me out! May 2nd is just pushin it too close, so I decided to give myself a couple weeks into the summer to focus on nothing but the MCAT before I actually take it.
It scared me though, because as I was going through the dates in mid-may and throughout June, all the seats were taken up! I don't want to drive to Athens or Macon for an available testing date! Luckily I found one at Georgia State on July 2nd. So there it is, my new test date, JULY 2nd. This gives me PLENTY of time. If I don't do well, I'm gonna be depressed. I know what to do and I'm gonna do it. If I don't do well, I deem myself stupid. No excuses, I gotta do well.
So I just paid $55 for the rescheduling fee and I'm happy. What a relief!

Oatmeal Yogurt Cookies!
So what do you do when you have 3 packs of plain oatmeal (the flavor from variety packs that no one'll eat) and leftover yogurt? If you're me, you'd google up a recipe involving both ingredients and hopefully something will come up. Well, whatdoyaknow, something did! Oatmeal Yogurt Chocolate Chip Cookies! The idea of yogurt being in cookies sounded pretty neat, and I did have some leftover chocolate chips from Valentine's Day when I made chocolate dipped strawberries for the first time. So my sweet craving had me bust out my mixer and start bakin'! I made some and was really afraid of how they'd turn out. For me, on whether or not it'll taste super awesome or turn out funky, it's always 50-50. Cuz sometimes I'm careless on measuring or overconfident with my "guesstimating skillz" that I don't use measuring cups. And also I tend to just add in whatever I want or change a few things. Well instead of plain yogurt, it was strawberry, so the cookies definitely gave off a fruity smell. So I gave the cookies to Philip and after a cookie popped into his mouth, I heard the best words a baker could hear! "Mmmmmm! These are the best cookies I've ever eaten!" haha well that's just great!
I took a picture from my phone before the cookies would be eaten up.

Going Organic!
I'm gonna start eating food from the organic aisle from now on. I wanna start being super healthy, take care of my body, exercise, and go green! Being that the organic aisle is generally more expensive, and I don't have enough plastic or aluminum "trash" to start a recycle bin, the best I can do now is work on exercising and just cutting out junk food. (Recycling and shopping at Whole Foods can wait when I have a family)
I've been eating pretty healthy lately... and going healthy can be "easy" for so long! I'm craving buffalo wings like crazy! I hadn't eaten chips in a while either. The other day Philip bought these sugar-free vanilla wafers which I thought would be the crappiest cookies ever. C'mon now, vanilla wafers? Who eats those?! And from my experience, anything sugar-free tastes like crap. Amazingly enough, the cookies were delightful! It even read on the box some about being "#1 favorite sugar-free snack cookie" or something like that. So healthy junk CAN taste good!
And sooo... I went to Kroger today to somewhat satisfy my craving. I bought buffalo wing flavored kettle cooked chips! (from the organic aisle of course) hee... :D

Spring Time = Crunch Time!
Only a little over a month before I take the MCAT and I'm starting to freak out. In a way I feel like I'm doing all I can...yet I'm still not confident. There's always that, "I really could've studied a bit more" feeling, when I think of times I've spent not studying... like watching TV, spending so much weekend time with family, or sometimes eating out. sigh. But now there's no time to waste. It's CRUNCH TIME.
Anyway, I'm addicted to the TV all over again. I've always loved TV... but ever since college started, I think I stopped watching for a good four years. Now that I've graduated, I've started to have certain shows that I gotta keep up with, one of which is Dancing With The Stars! I love it. Someday in my life I gotta take ballroom dancing lessons. Hopefully before my wedding, so that my first dance with my future husband can be entertaining. Of all the weddings I've gone to, that first dance is cool for a second, but a typical song can last like 3-4 minutes and watching that slow dance can start to get boring... haha. For my wedding, I wanna waltz! Or do the jitterbug!
To sum up my birthday, I really gotta say SEAFOOD FEAST! On Friday Philip and I ate catfish and lots of flounder, then that Saturday I ate at Pappadeaux with Becca, Justin, Mollie, Chris, and Hubert. I had mahi mahi and a dozen oysters! Then Sunday my parents took the family and Philip out to Red Lobster! So much seafood, but all I can drool about now is just wanting some more raw oysters from Pappadeaux.... mmm I can eat those by the dozen
I also was treated to The Grape on my birthday by Philip. It felt like a first date all over again! Neat place to drink wine. One thing I learned was that red wine is served room temperature and white wine is served chilled. I never knew! I just picked red wine (the color makes it seem like it'd be more fruity) and ended up wishing I had ice with it. hahaha just kidding. It was yummy. Neat experience with the live jazz band. So expensive, but it was so fun! Philip is such a good man :)

Wow, what an age. What a horrible age. For the first time, the day brings no excitement to me. I actually got a little happy when I saw 4 facebook wall posts wishing me an early happy birthday. Haha the week of my birthday came and I didn't realize it. AM I OLD? Birthdays don't matter anymore?! SAY IT AIN'T SO! noo... can't be. This year just flew by too quick. I'll make up for it next year when I'm 24.... which really isn't a great age either. No wait, it's gonna be my year! YEAR OF THE TIGER!!! yesssss I'll totally make up for it next year and by myself a pet tiger. Can't wait.
I'll tell ya the real exciting news of the year. Uyen's pregnant! And she's having a boy! Now THAT'S real news to get excited over. I'm an aunt-to-be! haha more like Be to Aunt... get it? get it?
