I love taking breaks outside the library just to watch the sunset. I always forget to take pictures though. TODAY I REMEMBERED. I'm waiting for Saturday which supposedly should be a super moon. For some reason I hardly ever see moons in Grenada. I've seen the moon like 2-3 nights in a row now for the last couple days. At this rate, I have a feeling it's gonna be a nice full moon this Saturday!
outside the library
Worked out today with some strengthening. I can't tell if I'm strong. I lifted the bar and that's what, 40 or 45lbs? Then I added an extra 5lbs on each side. yesss!! I'm SO STRONG! ........................k, maybe not.
Anyway, then what's better than to end the workout with tomato juice? I LOVE TOMATO JUICE now. It's just soooo refreshing. I can drink it all day every day. I'm craving it again right now. Mollie just told me she made a spinach smoothie. That sounds weirdly good. I want a cucumber smoothie too, which they have here that I've yet to try. mmmm veggies.
Knowing the goodness of incorporating strengthening with cardio, I did crunches for the first time in a while a couple days ago. MY ABS HURT. I know the feeling of a good sore, but something about this feels really ABnormal (or is it ab-abnormal hahaha get it?!?!). Really, just laughing hurts, bending over hurts, getting up after sitting, and trying to walk just really hurts. I woke up this morning hoping it'd go away, but I'm still in pain.
Slept early, woke up early. MUST. BE. PRODUCTIVE. TODAY
I was putting songs on my iphone including all the already-made playlists of songs (from my burnt cds) that date way back to the high school days. I put everything on shuffle and with my music ADD, just kept hitting next, next, next after every 30 seconds. Each song just made me sit back and close my eyes and think of that time in my life. Just a clip of the song and a rush of good memories come back to me. Each song just brings that certain time period in your life. All good things come to an end. It's just so so so so so bittersweet.
Music = huge contributer to my happiness.
I've started a new life on this island and will continue for two years. I'll be back in the states in who knows where for another two years. Then residency will come along and I have no idea where I'll be. Just the thought of this makes me excited to create new memories. I can't wait to look back on these days I'm living right now.
One thing for sure, THIS song will definitely bring memories!
2 months flew by JUST LIKE THAT. I can't believe midterms are over. This second half of the semester is gonna go by even faster. I can already feel summer coming. It's going to be a great great great summer!
This weekend was the first and only weekend of pure relaxation. Last week consisted of lacking a lot of sleep, drank a lot of coffee, didn't work out one bit, ate the same rotis, wraps, and subway, or potato pies every day. I've been eating the same thing every day and I'm not quite sure that'd be considered healthy haha. It's okay, I'll wait til summer to get into shape! (<--- why do I say that EVERY summer?)
But anyway, the last exam was Anatomy on Friday and the minute after our lab practical, all I could hear is "We're FREE!!!!!" because indeed we were. What is there to do in Grenada anyway but hit up the beach? The school is so nice. Every study break looking at the sunset, I'm still in awe of how gorgeous it is. I keep forgetting my camera though, I need to take a picture! Going to school on an island is pretty nice.
I slept so much this weekend which made up for the hours of sleep I lacked all week. Sleep really does do the body good, cuz my body feels a little better now. I'm gonna try to be healthy this second half of the semester. That's my never ending goal-- to strive to be healthy and do my body good.
Can't believe the weekend has come to an end. It's been a pretty tough ride the first half, but I gotta finish strong this second half. I'm READY! (no, not really), but I AM ready for summer! R-E-L-A-X-A-T-I-O-N has never felt soooooo good.
And to leave off w/ a song that's on repeat. I love this song.
